THE PALETTE

This palette comes with 4 shades. Since this is the “Pink Bloom” quad, most of the eye shadows are pink with the exception of “Shine Ash Brown”

So let me tell you one thing first. These shadows are mostly glitter. They aren’t very pigmented but they are meant to be that way. Glitter is very popular in Korea and lots of K-pop stars sport glitter on their eyes. The only way you can get quite a good color pay off with these eye shadows is if you apply them wet.

THE LIPSTICK

Alright… so I kind of cheated on this one hahaha

The lipstick that came in the box is #4 in Blooming Love but pink does not look good on me. So I decided to buy another color that looks good on me (I gave the pink lipstick to my friend xD)

I bought #2 Spring Love

The packaging is surprisingly super cute. It fits really well in your hands and the texture of the lipstick is very smooth.

I know it looks pretty pink in this pic, but I actually used a bright pink Dior lipstick and the put the #2 lip color in the middle.

THE EYELINER

Memebox definitely knows how to make eyeliners. I own 3 of their shades including the one that came in this box. OMG they are freaking pigmented and they just stay! They stay forever!

Beautiful color: Check. Staying power: Freaking check! Good job Memebox

THE BLUSH

I wish I could say that same thing about this blush when it comes to staying power… I am not a fan of this blush. It doesn’t stay long and the color pay off is’t very good 😦 But if you are looking for light cream blush then this could be a very good option for you.

#3 Selena Cream Blush Swatch

THE SHADOW

Did you get blind when you saw this picture? Because this eye shadow is freaking glittery. These are basically pressed glitter. It comes with glitter chunks that once they break down they reveal their color.

They remind me of the Stila Magnificent Metal Foil Finish Eye Shadow. The Stila is a better quality though and it lasts longer than the memebox one.

THE MASCARA

I am actually very impressed with this mascara. This stuff is awesome, way better than the mascara I got in my previous Pony Memebox. This mascara will you all the length in the world (not so much volume) but there is downside to this mascara: It is freaking painful to take off. But to be honest, I am willing to go through that pain in order to have the result that this mascara gives me. This mascara is very “Korean” if we get technical about it. It gives you the length that is popular in Korea, because I don’t think that volume is popular per se.

CONCLUSION

• Beautiful products. I don’t think that all of them are really good, but I was overall happy with the whole box
• OBSESSED with the mascara and the eyeliner!
• The eye shadows and the lipstick are okay
• Not loving the blush 😦
• I give this memebox a 4/5.

When it comes to music I always appreciate catchy and fun songs. Not only they have good songs, but they also have super fun and entertaining dance moves! Check them out!

Etude House Play 101 Pencils

Hello Peeps!!!

I returned one more time with another review :3

This time I bring you a review of the “Play 101” Pencils by Etude House.

There are 50 shades (and there is only so much money in my pocket T.T)

Does she remind you of anyone? It’s Pony! I did a review of her Meme box collaboration eye palette if you want to go and check it out in my blog!

She is actually the model for the Play 101 pencils for Etude House.

 I want to start this by saying that this is one of the most ingenious ideas I have ever heard and seen. Korean makeup just blows my mind! I just can’t even understand how they come up with these ideas.

I bought one of the pencils a while ago, but I was waiting for my second one to arrive so that’s why it took a while for me to write this review. But I finally tested both of them and here are my two cents.

So the Etude House Play 101 Pencils… where can I start… I AM OBSESSED! Haha

First of all it’s such a new and innovative idea, and it really works. At first I was a little worried of how these were going to work, but I am extremely satisfied and impressed.

Etude House came up to these pencils in order to serve multi-purpose uses. One pencil you can use for more than one part of your face. They have different finishes, for example, the ones with the matte finish would serve more as an eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and blush. The ones with the glossy finish are great for lips and cheeks. But you can use them however you want.

These are the two I purchased

Number 23 is a burgundy color and it has a glossy finish and number 43 is a pink champagne color and it has a shimmery sheen finish.

Use it as blush too!

This pencils allows you to have a very smooth application on your lips and another amazing thing is that you can do is that you can use it as you lip liner so you only have to fill in you lips after that and then be done. You don’t have to worry about applying a coat of lipstick. You are basically set for life T.T

I used number 43 on my eyes. I mostly focused on my under eye and inner corner.

This color is perfect to highlight your eyes!

CONCLUSION

• OMAGAH!! These pencils are the bomb.com! They are so versatile and they have an awesome color payoff!
• I also bought them at a very comfortable price. They are only 5 dollars at kpoptown.com
• They have so many colors and finishes. Oh gosh, I gotta catch them all now!
• I give these a 5/5. Good job Etude House, good job!

Pony x Memebox Pony Box *Review and Tutorial*

Hello peeps!

Today I bring you a review of the Pony x Memebox Pony Box collaboration.

Now let me tell you how I got to know about Memebox and Pony. I am a huge Korean makeup junky so I always need to know what are the new trends. One day I stumbled upon Pony’s makeup section in the Youtube Channel Wishtrend. I remember I was at my school’s library pretending to do homework and I was looking at Korean makeup and that’s when I clicked on her video. After I watched that video I was hooked. So one thing led to another and I found out that she did a collab with Memebox and that’s how I found out about Memebox. Her real name is Park Hye Min, but she goes by Pony because, let’s be honest, that’s easier to remember xD.

But legit, can I have your face already?   A fun fact about Pony is that she is a self-taught makeup artist. She is also knows as an “Ulzzang” which basically means a person with a pretty face, and she is also a model.

Pony actually has 2 eye palettes with Memebox (Season 1 & 2). The first one (Season 1) consist of warm brown eye shadows in combination with neutral colors as well. The second one (Season 2) is the one I got in my Memebox 🙂

So let’s start with the review 😛

Marc Jacobs eyeliner not included xD I happend to buy it the same day the Memebox got to my house and I saved that box inside the Memebox 😛

The Memebox contains:

• Pony’s eye palette (Season 2)
• Pony’s Galaxy Pink mix block
• “I’m eyeliner” Eyeliner (you get a random color and I got #03 Immortal)
• “I’m tint balm” Lipbalm (you get a random color and I got #01 True Red)
• “I’m mascara” Mascara (you get a random color and I got #2 Brown)

(Sorry guys, I didn’t swatch them because I am kind of busy at the moment hehe. But don’t worry, I will put in a picture of the swatches when I have a little bit of extra time)

The palette comes with 8 colors:

1. Shiny Peach 2. Glam Violet 3. Shine Dew 4. Shine Rose 5. Glam Mocha 6. Shine Beige         7. Glam Choco 8. Glam Bronze

I decided to do a mini-tutorial with this box so I hope you like it. You can play with the colors and experiment however you like as well.

So first I prepared my face. Here I have my foundation on, my contouring a highlight and I also have my eyebrows done!

1. I apply some of NYX jumbo crayon in milk to my eyelid. You can skip this step if you want to, but this just helps for the color to show truer and you can also modify the colors with white.

This is how you are going to end up looking xD I did spread it out with a brush so I didn’t look so crazy hahaha

2. After that we are going to take Shine Dew and pack it all over the eyelid

Then I took Glam Choco and put it on my crease and brought it up near close my brow bone, forming a V-shape. I and I swiped it from the outside in.

After that I put Glam Violet on my crease. Make sure you blend very well.

Then it’s time for eyeliner!

I personally like to follow the V-shape line I formed earlier with Glam Choco for my winged shape.

I applied Shiny peach in the under eye are. (I have to say that I am obsessed with this color)

Now let’s put some mascara on! One special thing that I do for this mascara is that I apply my favorite mascara before I put this one on. This mascara isn’t the best for volume or lengthening so I just use this after I apply my other mascara.

As for the Easy Mix Block I have to say that I am not huge fan of it. It doesn’t show with the intensity that I wished it showed. 😦 But for very very natural days, I see how this mix block could complete the look!

This is what the lip balm looks like. This is one of my favorite products in the box. It is extremely moisturizing and I also leaves a pretty tint after the gloss wears out.

Then I sealed my hard work with the makeup spray setting spray by Urban Decay.

I am extremely influenced by Kpop idols makeup when I do my looks, so if you think is too much makeup please bear with me 😦 I will do more natural looks in the future :3

CONCLUSION!

• I am really liking this Memebox. I am a huge fan of Pony so when I found it this existed I needed to get my hands on it as soon as possible.
• Unfortunately not everything is pink and roses. I am not a huge fan of the chalky finish of the shadows and the mix block. I HATE CHALKY EYESHADOWS! You really need to work with them in order to make them look good. I would advise to at least a quality eye shadow primer (I recommend the Urban Decay eye shadow potion primer)
• The Tint Balm gives me life. It is legit the best product in the box.
• My second favorite product is the eyeliner! OMG it’s the perfect color. It is combination of burgundy and brown and it just helps me live hahahaha.
• The mascara is okay, nothing special.
• I give this Memebox as 3/5. I personally believe that it isn’t the best quality product, but you can still work with it and achieve a great makeup look.
