Miracle Romance “Sailor Moon” Eyeliner

Hello peeps!!!

OMG! How is everyone doing? I’ve been gone for quite sometime and it’s all because of adulting -_-!

Distressed because of so much adulting selfie!

I’ve been traveling quite a lot since mid-last year and I’ve been collecting a bunch of stuff that I want to share on my blogs, so keep tuned 🙂

So I’m making my great comeback with an eyeliner review! But, it’s not just any eyeliner… it’s the Sailor Moon “Miracle Romance Eyeliner”

Now for those that are wondering who Sailor Moon is, I only have one question for you: Did you live under a rock?

Okay, maybe I’m being a little harsh, but I only say this because I care you, yes you, the person ready this blog.

Well let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Sailor Moon!

Sailor Moon is a Japanese manga that came out in the late 80’s that was later animated in the early 90’s. From its inception it was well received by the public.

This anime was very meaningful for me growing up, because Serena was just like me, a middle-school girl that was confused about life in general, but she took the huge responsibility to become a Sailor Scout and save the world from evil. Her story and personality had a huge positive impact in the person I am today.

Anyways… let’s get into the good stuff!

It’s a felt tip eyeliner that comes with interchangeable caps (that you can put on top of the cap that they eyeliner comes with). You can get the Moon Stick, Cutie Moon Rod, Spiral Heart Moon Rod & Pink Moon Stick.

Mine already came with the Moon Stick. :

My sister traveled to South Korea a month ago, and she was kind enough to get this for me

After “punishing everyone in the name of the moon” *does sailor moon pose* (of course that was the first thing I had to do… duh) I decided to give it a try…

The first thing I noticed is that the felt tip makes it very easy to make thin or thick lines. The black is also very intense, but I did feel the need to do a couple more passes on top of my original line.

To put this baby to the test I decided to go out for a couple hours to test its durability and unfortunately it didn’t do so well…

It stared to smudge about 2-3 hours after I started wearing it.

I do have to say that Ohio is very humid during the summer. When I was out it was about 80° degrees and there was 50% humidity. The MOST UNHOLY WEATHER!!!

Also it stared to fade at the wing:

You can see that the liner part on the lid looks darker than the liner part on part that’s flicked.

  •  It’s a “TAKE MY MONEY” item for sure. For those that watched Sailor Moon as kids, know exactly what I’m talking about. I would say that this is a direct attack to the millennial population, since we were the ones that enjoyed Sailor moon during our childhoods. I know that they also release a Sailor Moon powder and people went nuts. You can probably try to find it only for a million dollars 🙂
  • My sister purchased this item for $20 dollars. For the price, I don’t think the eyeliner itself it’s worth it. Specially because you can totally get the Stila “All Day” waterproof eyeliner & this eyeliner will stay on all freaking day! ($22 dollars @ Sephora.com)
  • If think that this is more of a collectors item, than an actual well-thought out makeup product.
  • I give this product a 5/5. Even though the eyeliner itself isn’t the best, it brought a lot of good memories and I’m just excited to have something that makes me happy!

Guise, I’ve recently been listening to IU a lot! I never really gave her a chance before because I thought her music was just generic bubble-gum kpop. Don’t get me wrong, I usually don’t mind it, but it can get old. But boy, I was wrong! Her music is fantastic and you should go and giver her a listen. Her music just gets better with time!

Hello Peeps!!

I returned today with a BB Cushion review.

I haven’t been really been looking around for BB or CC Cushions lately, but I happen to find this one on memebox.com

Let’s get into the review!!!

I was actually pretty surprised with the box. It’s really pretty!!

It also comes with a replacement cushion

This is always a plus for me. I mean, it was pretty expensive so I better get my money’s worth!!

Now the Cushion packing is very sleek and chic. It feels like an high-end product (and it actually is! Hera is considered an high-end product in South Korea)

Let me tell you a little bit about my skin type. I have a acne prone skin, very oily in the summer and super dry in the winter. I have been experiencing some break-outs since I just recently moved into an apartment and while I was going through all the moving hassle I happened to misplaced my Mia2 for 2 days and I am now paying the consequences.

I got shade C-23(their darkest shade)]

You can tell on this picture that it’s still pretty light

Compared to my neck it makes me look pale as a ghost xD

Now this is when I applied it all over my face.

I also added a little bit a bronzer and a bronzey blush (to even out my paleness xD)

This is what it looks like in natural light.

It is an extremely brightening formula. I loved the fact that even though it was lighter than my actual skin tone, it didn’t make me look ashy.

  • Excellent quality product. It lasts all day. I don’t think there is a need for retouching (unless you sweat a lot)
  • It doesn’t make you look ashy like a lot of other bb creams
  • If you have a darker skin tone, you won’t be able to find a shade that will match you 😦
  • This bb has a semi-matte finish, it isn’t as hydrating as other bb cushions.
  • I got it for $32 bucks at memebox.com

Korean Style Makeup Tutorial

Hello peeps!

I have returned with a tutorial this time. I have been watching quite a lot of K-Pop videos lately and I am always jealous of how perfect all the girls in K-Pop groups always look.

This time around I am focusing mostly on the eyes.

Let the tutorial begin…

Alright so let’s get the eyebrows out of the way…

2015-05-13 14.16.46

Here I am using “I’m Eyebrow Mascara” in Brown by Memebox and Anastasia Beverly Hills “DipBrow Pomade” in Dark Brown

2015-05-13 14.18.10

It is popular in Korea to tint your eyebrows a lighter color. In #1 I swiped the Eyebrow Mascara and #2 is my natural eyebrow color. Experiment with different colors!

For eyebrows, make sure that they are straight. Arched eyebrows aren’t very popular in Korea. The thinking behind a straight brow is that it makes you look more soft and youthful.

2015-05-13 14.18.37

2015-05-13 14.19.02

Alright, now let’s talk eyes!

I am using more than one eye shadow palette for this tutorial. You don’t have to use the same exact colors and brands that I have. I am just giving you an idea for you to make it your own!

Okay, so this is a quad by Givenchy that came out a while ago. Their eye shadows don’t have individual names so I am just going to name them #1 #2 #3 and #4. If throughout the tutorial you forget what number is which color, just come back to this picture.

This is the Siena Silhouette 76

2015-05-13 14.20.37

For my lid I used #4 from the Siena Silhouette quad

2015-05-13 14.22.19

I contoured with #1 from the Siena Silhouette quad.

2015-05-13 14.23.09

I used the “Bulletproof 24 hour” by Too Faced to make a thin line on my lid.

2015-05-13 14.19.45

2015-05-13 14.23.50

I applied a black eyeliner very close to the lash line. Make sure you don’t make it too thick. I used the Sephora Collection Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner

When drawing your line when you get to the corner of your eye you have to bring it down instead of up. This will create the illusion of bigger eyes.

2015-05-13 14.24.34

For my under eye I am using an Artist Shadow by Makeup forever. I grabbed a bullet-shaped eye shadow brush and placed it all over my under eye.

TBH I don’t remember the name of the eye shadow but I believe it’s M738 Auburn.

You are more than welcomed to use a different color

2015-05-13 14.25.36

I placed a small violet line in the middle of my lower eyelid. I used the Play 101 Pencil in #19. Just to give it a pop of color.

I also went over the thin gel liner line I made, with another eyeliner. I used the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon in #42 Blacquer

2015-05-13 14.26.26

I went over the orange color I placed earlier on my lower eye area with “Orange You Fancy” eyeshadow from the Artist Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills (REVIEW COMING SOON)

I also put in some of the Urban Decay “Heavy Metal Glitter Liner” in Glamrock on my inner corner. This step is very important since it will also help with the bigger eye effect. You can use a highlighter for this step as well.

2015-05-13 14.21.32

Dots: Orange You Fancy

Lines: Glamrock

2015-05-13 14.27.22

As for mascara I am using the “I’m Mascara” by Memebox in Black. This gives my eyelashes length, and not so much volume. This is what you need to look for in a mascara for the Korean Style.

2015-05-13 14.27.43

Another important step is to contour the “agyeo sal”

Okay for those that do not know what that is, “agyeo” in Korean closely translates to “cute” and “sal” means “flesh” I know, gross xD So it’s the “cute flesh” that babies have under their eyes that makes their eyes look cute and big. Grab a bullet-shaped brush and place it under the skin that gathers under your eye when you smile. xD I really don’t know how to explain it so just look at the picture below.

2015-05-13 14.16.01

2015-05-13 14.30.35

Finish off with a lip color that makes your complexion brighter. I chose the Two Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in “Melted Ruby”

2015-05-13 14.28.20

2015-05-13 14.30.14

2015-05-13 14.29.14

Korean makeup should look simple and a bit natural.

Hello! Hola!你好 ! Ciao! 안녕!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Monica Soto and this is my first blog post. I am so excited to start this new journey and start to meet people that like the same thing as me… MAKEUP!! haha You probably saw that I wrote the word “hello” in a couple languages, well here’s the explanation to all of this madness… I was born in El Salvador, one wonderful afternoon on July 13, 1991 (yeah I know, I am old… SHHHHH). I grew up in El Salvador and moved to the States when I was 15 🙂 So that explains how I know Spanish (and yas, I am fluent… even though sometimes I wonder about that because I even forget how to say my name in Spanish at times jajaja) But anywaysss… I have been living in the States for about 8 years and it has been quite an adventure (and that explains how I can speak English fluently hehehe) Unfortunately I do not speak Korean, Chinese or Italian fluently but these are the languages I want to get better at. I am teaching myself Korean and Chinese and I learn most of it from watching Korean and Chinese dramas/kpop videos/books 🙂 So I know some of the basics (as for Italian I haven’t been paying too much attention to it, but I do wish to learn it) So like I stated earlier, this blog will be about makeup (journey and skills) and I will be showing you the products that I already own and I still have to buy (which basically own all of Sephora and I still need most of Korea’s supply) I am so stoked to share with everyone my passion for makeup and not only that… But I also want others to see for themselves products before they commit and also to let others know that they too can wear makeup. We are all beautiful in some way, and I don’t want anyone that reads this blog leaving like they came, because I want everyone to know that: YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! OWN IT AND SHOW IT!
