Hello Peeps!
I am back with a mini-tutorial today
Two days ago I was at Sephora and I usually get most of my nail polishes from there. I have only ventured into the Formula X, Ciate and Deborah Lippmann nail polishes and for some reason I have always stayed away from Marc Jacobs and Dior.
But that day I decided to finally give Marc Jacobs a try. Now, when it comes to shade I always look for super sparkly, fun and noticeable colors. I browsed around and the choices were not catching my attention until I saw the shade “Glinda”
Here is the packaging!
Since I bought this rather luxurious nail polish, I decided to incorporate ii in this mini-tutorial of how I prep my nails before I apply nail polish.
I have never gotten my nails done before and I legit own so many bottles of nail polish (around 150) that I don’t feel that I have the need to get them done. So I just keep accumulating nail polish xD
These are the products I use:
1. I start with priming my nails (just like makeup *mind blown*). I apply 1 drop after I file and shape my nails. I have noticed that my nail polish last longer after I started using this primer. It retails for $14 bucks.
From DeborahLippmann.com website: Start with a clean slate. Before your base coat, apply this protein-rich nail cleanser. The fast-evaporating formula removes dirt, oil and residue from nails, resulting in a longer lasting manicure.
Hold dropper two inches above nail and gently squeeze a tiny drop on each nail. Once evaporated, follow with a base coat.
2. I apply the Dead Sea Cosmetics Nourishing Cuticle Oil. I apply this on my cuticles after my primer and then massage my fingers and this helps your blood to circulate better.
I actually have a funny story about this one too 😦 I was basically pushed to buy this stuff.
So the Dead Sea cosmetics… I don’t believe they have stores that you walk in a purchase stuff, but they set their products in stands at the mall. One day I was merrily walking through the mall on my way to my car (I was happy cuz I bought this super cute purse) when all of a sudden this dude comes up to and asks me to see my hands, but I barely heard him because I had my headphones on (and I was jamming too T.T) so he basically grabbed me by the hand and started to do stuff to them. He was using the buffer on my nails already before I could say anything and then I just stood here like: “What? What just happened? Where am I?” Well long story short I ended up buying and nail kit from their stand T_T lol
I don’t use the rest of the stuff I bought, but I recently started using their cuticle oil and to be honest I am kind of glad I purchased it. My cuticles have been doing amazing recently and even people are starting to notice. I think the kit was around $30 dollars. I believe that you can purchase the oil on ebay or amazon.
3. I apply a base coat. I have been using the Gel Pink Coat by Le Vernis and I have a to say that I like it a lot. Besides the primer, I think that this stuff is also helping my nail polish last longer.
From Sephora.com website: This “Suit of Armor” creates a sheer pink coating that strengthens and hardens natural nails so they grow beautifully long and strong. Its keratin-rich formula includes an optical brightener that filters out any yellow appearance in your nails, bringing out the natural color in your nail bed and making the whites of your nails appear whiter.
4. So after all those steps, I am ready to apply the nail polish! This has a traditional nail polish applicator.
*AFTER ONE COAT*
*AFTER THREE COATS*
5. My last step is the top coat. I have been using the colorstay gel envy by Revlon. This stuff is so amazing! It dries your nails in no time (which is perfect for me because I always do my nails at night). And the best thing about this product is THE PRICE T.T. You can get it a the drugstore for around $5 bucks.
Now randoms shots of my nails xD
FINITO! HAHA
WELL THERE YOU HAD IT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU LIKE THESE MINI-TUTORIALS. I THINK THAT I WILL START TO DO THESE MORE OFTEN. NOW, LET ME KNOW IF YOU EVER TRIED ANY OF THE MARC JACOBS NAIL POLISHES!
