AmorePacific Color Control Cushion Compact

Hello peeps!

Yesterday I was walking through the halls of Sephora (which is never a good idea, and my wallet doesn’t appreciate it at all) and I stopped at the AmorePacific section.

I am a huge fan of AmorePacific and its cosmetics brands. They own Etude House, Innisfree, Aritaum, Laneige, IOPE, Mamonde, and a whole other bunch other of brands.

This time I wanted to try the CC Cushion so I went ahead and grabbed it.

Here are my thoughts!

The packaging is very sleek. It looks very luxurious and it fits well in the hand.

2015-05-24 17.11.54

It comes with a mirror and a cushion puff.

OKAY… SO LET’S TRY THIS BAD BOY!

Here is my bare face.

I have uneven skin tone and I have some crazy hyper pigmentation happening under my left eye. My hope for this CC Cushion is to be able to correct those, that way I don’t have to wear too much makeup.

After the Cushion:

I was actually very impressed with this CC Cushion. It legit controls any discoloration and it makes your skin tone pretty even.

2015-05-24 17.15.52

It helped quite a bit with my under eye hyper pigmentation, but it didn’t cover it completely. But it is one of the only product that actually does a decent job covering it.

This CC Cushion also leaves your skin with a dewy finish. Since it is summer here I need to control it with some powder, but it’s nothing too complicated. It does brighten the skin and it leaves it with a cooling sensation.

Another plus for this product is that it has broad spectrum SPF 50. It protects against UVB and also UVA rays. So if you are lazy like me, you don’t have to worry about putting sunscreen on xD

To use I pat the product on my face. I lot of people sweep it on the face, but that isn’t my style.

If you are wondering how this compares to the Laneige BB Cushion, I would start by saying that these two have two different purposes. The Laneige BB focuses on giving a little bit more of coverage and the AmorePacific focuses on color correcting. They both give a dewy finish, but the AmorePacif does a better job at correcting discoloration and blemishes. The price is also different. The Laneige BB Cushion retails for $30 bucks @ Target and the CC Cushion is $60 bucks @ Sephora. They both come with a replacement cushion.

CONCLUSION

  • Really good product. It covered blemishes and it also helped quite a lot cover my under eye hyper pigmentation.
  • The packaging is luxurious and it looks really sturdy too.
  • I would say that it is reasonably priced. It costs $60 dollars but you also get a second cushion.
  • I wished there were more colors. The one that I got it’s a bit darker than my skin tone, but the other colors were too light.
  • I give this product a 5/5

Laneige Water Drop Tint *Review*

Hello Peeps!

I am back!!

(even though it hasn’t been a day since I posted my last review kekeke)

Anyways… I recently purchased some Korean cosmetics and I want to review everything I got. Today I bring you a review of the Water Drop Tint by Laneige

2015-04-15 10.32.51

I personally love Laneige (tbh, I love anything that is under and made by AmorePacific xD) and I have a few of their skin care  products as well some of their cosmetics. I did a review on the Laneige BB Cushion a while ago. You can click here to read it 🙂

So let’s get on the review…

[LANEIGE] Water Drop Tint 6g_4

The Water Drop Tint comes in various shades (well pink and orange xD) .They are extremely pretty and wearable

The one that caught my attention was Scarlet Red

20150415_100913

I liked the fact that it isn’t red but it isn’t purely orange either. (Lol since it took so long to get here, I totally forgot I purchased this product, so when I put it on I was complaining because it didn’t look red)

20150415_100927

I tried reading that… I am not sure what it says T.T

20150415_100943

The box is pretty fancy 🙂

Here is the Lip Tint 😀

20150415_101033

20150415_101108

This is what the applicator looks like.

20150415_10114420150415_101200

So here is the deal. The point of this applicator is to create gradient lips without having to conceal your lips.

So this is how you apply it (according to the Laneige.com website)

Step 1: Apply the the water drop-shaped on your lower lip left and right with the bent facing inside so that the tint is applied naturally and thoroughly, and then smack you lips 1 to 2 times.

Step 2: Apply the tint once more on the center of your lower lip to achieve gradient lips, giving your lips more dimension.

Now, let the pictures of my lips begin!

Look who decided to visit me :3 (If you guys haven’t see their video, what are you waiting for? Just click right here)

CONCLUSION

  • Unfortunately this isn’t drug store priced makeup. I bought this one for $19.71 dollars at kpoptown.com
  • I wish the shade selection was wider. It only lets you pick from either pink or orange.
  • I don’t think that this tint is worth the price. I wish it was cheaper. It didn’t last long and the packaging looks really cheap too.
  • I like the color and the applicator, but once again, I don’t think it’s worth the price.
  • I give this product a 2.5/5. I would have appreciated more if it was cheaper because it doesn’t last long and I just don’t think you get what you pay for.

LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF THIS PRODUCT. WOULD YOU PURCHASE IT? OR DO YOU THINK THERE IS A BETTER OPTION?

Laneige BB Cushion *REVIEW*

Hello hello everyone!

So today I am posting my first product review and that product is the Laneige BB Cushion in “Medium”

20150316_115945

It retails for $34 dollars at Target and so far I think that is the only place you can find it in the States. You can, of course, order it online but it might end up being a little bit more expensive. I would only recommend to buy it online if you want an extra dewy finish, as this one is targeted to the North American consumer and “they” don’t prefer that “over-dewiness” as desirable. But you might come into trouble of finding your shade if you order it from Korea since they only carry tones that are targeted to Korean consumers.

Korean Cushion:$_57

Here, you can see that their “darkest” shade is still pretty light…

Target:

laneige-bb-openThis is the 3 shades you can find at Target and you can tell that the darkest one would fit someone with a darker skin tone here in the States.

20150316_120040So let me talk a little bit about the packaging. I THINK IT’S THE CUTEST THING EVER!!! Hahahaha this whole “bb cushion” concept has taken Korean markets by storm (not so much here in the States) but it is insane in Asia. It is extremely convenient and I have to say that it does look rather luxurious. (breaks into: I’m so fancy, you already know… song)

20150316_120013Here is the cushion sponge. I have to say that I need to give a hug to whoever invented this (but I am pretty sure that they are already stinking rich and they won’t need my hug *criesforever*) because this WILL NOT ABSORB any of the actual BB, it all stays on the surface of the sponge and you can feel comfortable that you are not wasting any product. IT’S LIKE CHRISTMAS… WELL NOT REALLY… But you know what I mean! Like legit, all the product it picks up goes straight into ya face! GENIUS!

20150316_120109And it also comes with a replacement bb cushion. So basically you are getting 2 for $34 bucks (which it isn’t bad at all) Oh and remember to press from the bottom so the little container will come off… It took me a quite few trials to actually get it off the case T.T OTL haha but I finally got it.

20150316_120052*Pardon my disgusting nails* but here is the bottom of the cushion.

Now let’s talk science….

You must be wandering… So Gaby, what is so great about this BB cushion? I mean, it is kawaii as hell, but why is it so good?

Well let me explain or at least read off what it says it does:

  • It brightens skin (not it won’t make you “lighter,” it just makes your skin dewy)
  • Protects against UVA/UVB rays. (For those that do not know the difference basically UVA rays penetrate deeper into your derma a.k.a skin which causes problems if you expose yourself to them for extended periods *cough* skin cancer *cough* and UVB rays do not penetrate as deep but they cause sunburns, but they are still skin problem-causing rays.)
  • Helps prevent shine. This won’t make your skin SHinee (hahah kpop reference, anyone? anyone? no? okay T.T But if your face if really shine, you may want to mattify your face before applying this product)
  • Delivers natural, longer lasting coverage.

20150316_192303 So here is ma face without makeup (WERK IT GURL)

20150316_192524

And here is my face with the Laneige BB Cushion (and no, I didn’t alter the no makeup picture, I’m just that beautiful kkk just kidding… but seriously I didn’t alter the second one either.)

But you can tell the difference between the two pics….

CONCLUSION

  • Does it brightens the skin? YAAAAAS
  • Does it protect against UVA/UVB rays? The active ingredients in the product are: Octinoxate which is an active sunscreen ingredient, absorbs and filters UVB rays and reduces the appearance of scars. Titanium Dioxide which contains sunscreen properties (it also gives thickness and volume to the bb cream without altering any good property) and Zinc Oxide and this one is important since this is the one that protects against the deathly UVA rays. But at the end of the day, how the hell do I know these ingredients are in the product? I ain’t so scientist, fool! But if they are, then yes, you will be protected!
  • Does it prevent shine? Like I said, if your face is naturally oily and wells of oil just pour down your face then I would recommend to mattify, apply and if possible mattify again. Powder will absorb your face oils and just leave the dewiness of the cushion in your skin.
  • Does it last long? Eh… it does okay I guess, but the dewiness won’t last all day so you will have to re-apply it!

20150316_194916

Now here is another picture that I took at night in a different lighting 🙂

Well those are my two cents on the Laneige BB Cushion. I would give this product a 4/5 stars. I love it but I am not obsessed. But if you are a Korean makeup junkie like me… BUY IT, hahaha I feel like a kpop star when I wear it.
